Welcome to Dystemporalia!
Dystemporalia offers a variety of resources for the Anachronism card game published by TriKing Games. Here's what Dystemporalia has to offer. Spend some time looking around here, and you're sure to find something to enrich your Anachronism experience.
Newcomers' Guides
Anachronism is an easy game to learn, and Dystemporalia seeks to smooth your learning curve even more if you're new to the game by offering a detailed sample game to show you how Anachronism is played.
Card Lists and Checklist
Since the Anachronism card pool grows by 110 cards every 3-6 months, Dystemporalia provides PDF card lists containing the texts of all Anachronism cards to date (for PDFs containing card images, download TriKing's Oracles). The card lists are available in three forms:
- Sorted by culture, and within culture by set and card number
- Sorted by card type, and within card type alphabetically by card name
- Sorted by set, and within set by card number
Since Anachronism features non-random packaging, players can buy the exact cards they want by purchasing specific warrior packs. The Dystemporalia Checklist identifies how the various cards are distributed.
Card Reference and Rules Resources
In addition to the downloadable PDF lists, Dystemporalia hosts the Encylopædia Anachronistica, a comprehensive card lookup tool. Each card available in Anachronism can be viewed in the Encyclopædia, along with distribution information (how to buy or obtain that particular card), any relevant FAQ entries, card synergies, sample decks, and historical information from TriKing and from Wikipedia.
Without question, the most complicated aspect of Anachronism is the matter of timing—knowing when things happen in a game. Dystemporalia's Detailed Round Sequence Card provides a printable card containing all the steps of a round and their related timing phrases.
Resources for Online Play
Although this section of Dystemporalia will become obsolete when TriKing rolls out its own online Anachronism platform, for the time being Dystemporalia offers an online playmat that, when combined with an instant messenger program (preferably AIM, with its built-in die rolling), allows you to play Anachronism against people thousands of miles away. (You can challenge me if I have my chat client open!)
Tournament Resources
The Anachronism community is especially energized by local tournaments, and Dystemporalia supports these with several resources:
- Downloadable tournament flyers that help tournament organizers promote their events
- Suggested tournament formats that keep things interesting by presenting new deckbuilding challenges
- Tournament scorecards that tournament organizers can use to keep track of match results
Tools and Tips for Fan-Created Cards
Anachronism players are very creative, and have come up with many ideas for nonexistent "dream cards." TriKing itself provides a forum in which players can share their fan-created cards. Dystemporalia enhances the fan-created card experience by offering a Fan Card Construction Kit for those who want to make up their own fantasy cards. Dystemporalia also offers a library of cards that I have personally created using these tools.
Enjoy your visit to Dystemporalia! I hope that it won't be the last, and indeed, I'm confident that you will find something here to enrich your enjoyment of Anachronism.
